This site does not collect personal information for any purpose beyond operating the site itself. We don't use tracking cookies, we don't sell or share your information with advertisers, and we don't build profiles of visitors.

We use an opt-in approach to cookies, not opt-out. Nothing on this site sets a cookie automatically. If a feature ever requires one — for example, staying signed in to leave a comment — you'll be asked first, not defaulted in.
Third-Party Services
Some parts of the site rely on outside services to work well, and we want to be transparent about what those are:
Fonts. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. This sends your browser's request (including your IP address) to Google's servers to deliver the font files — it does not set a cookie, but it is an outside request.
Hosting. The site is hosted on Netlify, which handles standard web traffic to serve the pages you're reading.
Submissions. The essay submission form is processed through Netlify Forms so we can review pitches privately. Information you submit is used only to evaluate and respond to your submission.
Comments. If commenting is enabled on essay pages, it's handled through a third-party service that may require you to sign in with an existing account. That sign-in is entirely your choice, and it's governed by that service's own privacy policy, not ours.
What We Don't Do
We don't sell your data, run ad-tracking scripts, or share information with third parties for marketing. Any information you voluntarily provide — through the submission form or by email — is used only to respond to you or fulfill the reason you provided it.
We ask for as little as possible, we're transparent about what we do ask for, and we never treat your presence here as something to monetize through your data.
